# Narada's History

Narada concluded his instructions to Maharaja Yuddhistira by recounting his own history. Previously, he was a Gandharva named Upabarhana. When he made the mistake of glorifying the demigods in a festival for the Supreme Lord, he was cursed to be reborn as the son of a maidservant. In that life, however, he served the exalted devotees, and subsequently became Narada, the son of Lord Brahma. Such is the spiritual mercy that pure Vaisnavas can bestow upon someone.

Having described various descendants of the daughters of Daksa, Sukadeva Goswami thus concluded Canto Seven of Srimad-Bhagavatam.
