Indra Kills Visvarupa

Chapter 9

Brahma had hinted that Visvarupa was inclined to the demons. When Visvarupa saw them miserably defeated by the demigods, he secretly offered oblations into the yajna on their behalf. When Indra discovered this disloyalty, he angrily beheaded Visvarupa, but later regretted the act of murdering a brahmana. Although Indra could counteract the sinful reactions, he instead accepted them and shared them amongst the land, water, trees and women.
