# S - Sankya-yoga (25-33)

*Lord Kapiladeva instructed His mother, Devahuti, in the science of sankhya-yoga. This is an ancient philosophical system which analyses the elemental make-up of the physical universe. It systematically directs one to the root of all existence, the Supreme Lord, and thus culminates in devotional service - because after distinguishing spirit from matter, the natural progression is to become detached from matter and wholeheartedly attached to Krishna. Srila Prabhupada thus focuses in on the essence of sankhya-yoga, which is pure devotional service (*bhakti-yoga*).*
