# A - Annihilation (4-7)

*Life in the material world, regardless of the* yuga*, is temporary. There is a periodic annihilation of the universe taking place, and various other intermittent annihilations that occur. Sukadeva Goswami described this to prepare Maharaja Pariksit for the impending annihilation of his own body. Indeed, Maharaja Pariksit took heed of the advice, fixed his meditation on the Lord, was eventually bitten by the snake-bird, and successfully attained spiritual perfection.*
